Message From David - Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Hello again Fishing Creek Arbor,

Can you believe we have come to the end of another school year. It seems like only a couple weeks ago that we had all the students returning to school this year to come up for their blessing here at Fishing Creek Arbor. Congratulations to all of our graduates this year, we are very proud of you and wish you the very best in your future plans (our prayers will always be with you). With school about to end that means that it is time for Vacation Bible School once again. We want everyone in the church to be praying for bible school which occurs June 8th thru June 12th . Be praying for Dane, Ellen and all the teachers and helpers this year. Make plans to attend and invite everyone you see to come with you, we always have a very good adult class so we want all the adults in the church to be here also. Though it only last a week, bible school week is a very important time for any church. There is also the youth camps that will be starting right after that, so we certainly want to be praying for our kids during these camps. Pray for their safety and that their spiritual growth will be enhanced through these camps. We also have three weddings coming up here at the church in June and July, so be praying for Allen and Jessica, David and Amy, Chris and Hollie as this is an extremely important time in their lives. Then at the end of the summer we have RISE 2008. I know Wayne will be informing us a lot regarding this all important event but let me stress also how much we need everyone’s support and help with this. This is a huge undertaking for the church and there is no way that one person nor just a few people can handle this task. The first way to help is to pray and the second way is to put some feet on those prayers and volunteer to help with RISE in some area. We will need everyone’s help.

Whatever effort we put into all of these summer activities coming up during the next few months will be worth it when we see young people giving their lives to Christ.

1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no man despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

God Bless you all,

David

Message from David - Wednesday, March 26, 2008

Acts 2:24 – 26 says,  “Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.  For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.”

Our hearts can rejoice for the same reason David said that his could, because death could not hold our blessed Lord Jesus.  It is wonderful to take Easter Sunday to focus just on that one fact, the resurrection of our Lord.  I believe this Easter was the largest crowd we have ever had for sunrise service.  Thanks again to all those who prepared our breakfast and to dad for preaching for us.

Because Jesus lives He also leads.  I believe He has been leading us in some special ways here at Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church.  He led the way for us to be able to have Craig Tackett on that special Sunday, He has led us to host Rise 2008 in August for a county wide youth event and He led our teen class to New York on the mission trip.  Not only these events but He has led us in many other ways also.  We know He is the one doing the leading when we see the evidence of  Him bringing everything into place to make a certain thing or event happen.  It is always so exciting to see the hand of the Lord at work and it is manifested to us so obviously that it truly is HIM.

Isaiah 30:21 “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”  We just need to make sure that we as Christians always have spiritual eyes to see and spiritual ears to hear.  In a couple of weeks you will all be hearing a lot more about our mission trip to New York, you don’t want to miss that Sunday.  I don’t think it was any coincidence that we went on the New York trip at the exact same time we were finishing up our Wednesday night Bible study on the book of Acts.  The ones who were able to go on the mission trip became very much aware of what Acts 1:8 is all about.  We also PRAISE THE LORD for the ones who have been saved recently and for those who have joined our church to be baptized, we will be having a baptizing very soon.

Finally, let me encourage everyone in the church to get involved in the CARE ministry in someway, you will be richly blessed by this opportunity to minister to others.

God Bless,

David
